‘Melodious Flower’ is a group of ten limited edition prints by British-Nigerian multi-disciplinary artist and designer, Yinka Ilori MBE, made to celebrate the launch of Ilori’s collaboration with The North Face which was unveiled on 5^th September.
 

Each new print uses a combination of only three colours to depict a single flower. The motif of the flower is repeated in ten different bold colourways. A homage to Ilori’s upbringing in North London, ‘Melodious Flower’, seeks to spark joy and imbue positivity in the viewer.

Printed at Jealous by our wonderful printer Ines Fernandez de Cordova in close collaboration with Cristea Roberts Gallery, the artworks were more complicated than they first appear. Because the screenprints have so many variations, the studio were required to create three separate set-ups in order to create so many variations in the artwork. Highly pigmented screenprinting inks were used in order to create the joyful pop of colour that is so recognisable in Ilori’s works. Each print was finished with a varnish layer to complete the editions.
