For the past few years there has been a growing interest in hybrid printing and at Jealous we are seeing many more artists experimenting with this exciting combination of screenprint and digital. This allows us to add silkscreen layers to your digital editions, be they fluorescent colours, metallic inks, diamond dust or simple spot varnishes to move your digital editions into a direction you perhaps hadn’t considered. This can also sometimes be a more affordable option with shorter lead times than full silkscreen projects.

Developed for photographers and artists alike, our 12 colour 44 inch Epson SureColor printers offer superlative reproduction for professional proofing and a rapid output for running editions.

The inks we use are Epson’s own UltraChrome Pro12 inkjet, which output two black inks simultaneously, and include orange, green and violet, giving an impressive colour accuracy.

Scanning artwork is always preferable to photography as this can offer a higher resolution and truer colour reproduction without any concern of lens distortion. Jealous offers in-house high-quality colour scanning up to A2 size. For anything larger we outsource to a dedicated professional London-based scanning company (prices on request).

We also work with London’s best specialist photographers to get the highest quality reproductions of your artworks if you would like close-ups and in situ shots of your works.

Proofing is very simply making sure that you are happy with your digital prints. For any print job we include a complimentary test strip on request, to make sure you are happy with the print quality from the files provided. Full size proofs are also available on request.

Our highly experienced design and print technicians will take great care in colour matching, art working and reformatting, through to editing in Photoshop if necessary to help you get to what you want.

There are a number of finishing options available to make each edition unique, including tearing down the edition creating a soft organic edge, cutting the edition creating a defined edge, and debossing. Debossing creates an indent in a print similar in appearance to the plate mark of an etching. The effect can be used to define the edge of an image or create an outer border around an image, adding depth to the print.

Want your editions wrapped or packed? We can do both using acid free materials, be they flat packed or rolled in tubes. Full editions can be carefully and securely packed flat together or individually if you would like to use our drop ship option.

We can take care of shipping with our trusted logistics companies both domestically and internationally. All the works are packed and ship from our designated space in Tottenham.
