The White Camera Diaries
|Gwinnutt arrived in London aged 17 with his much older boyfriend in search of life and adventure.He came to know and photograph some of
the most influential and iconic gay figures of our time. Quentin Crisp, Derek Jarman, Leigh Bowery, Edmund White, Gilbert & George among others,
have succumbed to his lens. His friendships and often intimate relationships with these subjects - shown to us in The White Camera Diaries - allows
us a glimpse into their private worlds, providing a fascinating insight as Gwinnutt reveals the stories behind the pictures, the pratfalls, the
spats and the sexual encounters. We learn not only about of the most iconic faces of the 1980‚ÄöÖôs, but also the story of a Derbyshire lad as he encounters
London‚ÄöÖôs art world at a time when the queer scene was heading for a cultural crossroads.
