Lucy Cartledge is a British artist working and exhibiting in London. The mediums she works in include oil painting, screenprint and drawing. She has a particular interest in medieval art history and illuminated manuscripts and a preoccupation with ritual and how humans, animals, nature and combinations thereof were depicted in our past. Her work attempts to explore the tension between the real and the imagined and the embedded perennial symbols that can feel so impenetrable in our modern era.
