Ian has a long standing fascination with technology and architectural forms, these have included structures within industry, agriculture, science and the military.
Ian’s work aims to reinterpret manmade structures as monuments placed within the landscape. These structures in turn then become monuments of their time. The prints serve as a visual historical document and record a visual experience of the subject.
The structures in studies are devoid of people and the architectural scale can no longer be based on the physical measurement of the human body.
Ian has exhibited nationally and internationally and his work is held in various collections. He has exhibited Nationally and Internationally including London, Hong Kong, New York, Barcelona and Berlin. His work is held in various private and public collections.
He is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of the West of England, Bristol., where he teaches onto the M.A Printmaking Course and BA (Hons) Drawing and print course.
