Emma Shoard is an illustrator and print maker from Brighton. She studied Illustration and Animation at Kingston University and now lives and works on a boat on the river Thames, in Central London. She works mainly in ink, charcoal and pencil creating drawings that capture movement and purpose through free and fast mark-making. She transfers these types of drawings into print often using tru-grain to retain spontaneity. Main themes in her work include craftsmen, travel and the sea. Recently she has worked for Hansen & Lydersen illustrating the story of traditionally produced smoked salmon and has illustrated a new children’s book by Kevin Brooks.
