Ed Burnand graduated from Camberwell College of Art in 2002 with a BA Hons in Fine Art Painting. After graduation he exhibited across London and the South of England with a solo show at the Brighton Arts Centre in 2004. In 2006 Ed re-trained as a Cabinet/ furniture-Maker, designing architectural furniture before returning to his art practise in 2017.
Ed's practice has developed over the years to establish deeply personal ways of making marks on canvas, paper and metal plates with a keen interest in the systems of making and the relationship with material properties, process and environment. His aim is to create proto-narratives, each open to their own interpretation, but all informed by a theme or set of boundaries.
