Allie Ellis’ tongue-in-cheek ‘Pop Art Collages’ explore the fine line between surface joy and subsurface tension. Using found materials and ephemera from the 1940’s-60’s gives her work a distinctive and sometimes playful tone. While the work can be seen as light and whimsical, her pieces often have a subtle melancholic undertone.
