Jealous artist David Shrigley brings his works Down Under in an interactive solo exhibition.

David Shrigley’s solo exhibition ‘Tennis Ball Exchange’ at Walyalup I Fremantle Arts Centre, wittily explores the concept of exchange and the reciprocal nature of galleries, in the form of an interactive installation and large-scale neon.

The concept: Visitors are encouraged to bring an old tennis ball to swap with a brand new one from the numerous shelves that line the walls of the Ngoorlak and Karrak Galleries. The execution: rows upon rows of familiar neon orbs slowly transform into a camouflage of used, graffitied and not instantly-decipherable objects.

“My dog likes tennis balls. I throw them and she chases them. [Her interest is] more about exchange than possession.” - David Shrigley
