Blue Firth

Blue was selected from the MA Fine Art degree at the Royal Academy, she has exhibited widely in the UK and abroad at Nottingham Contemporary, Viktor Wynd Gallery, Cornerhouse in Manchester and was the Glenfiddich Artist in residence in 2009. Jealous was attracted to the textures and pattern in her work, and to the sense of playfulness in the juxtapositions of shapes and colours. Blue’s print for the Jealous exhibition is a 7 colour screenprint, with metallic pigments, layers are used to create new colours with raised inks providing texture and depth, exploiting the silkscreen medium to the full. Blue’s Jealous Prize print edition is now held in the Victoria & Albert Museum Permanent Print Collection.
