Who is Ben Kelly?

With Ben Kelly's exhibition 'Prints Paintings Poles' coming up, we wanted to introduce the artist and explore his previous projects.
Renowned artist and designer Ben Kelly will be hosting his first Jealous exhibition this September. He has directed successful and innovative projects across the UK, Europe and Asia. He is best known for his interior design of the legendary nightclub, The Haçienda in Manchester. His practice has produced influential work for 180 The Strand, Virgil Abloh, The Sex Pistols, The V&A, Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren, Factory Records, 4AD, The Science Museum, The Design Council, The Natural History Museum, Gymbox and BIMM.
Ben’s installation work has been commissioned by: The Vinyl Factory & 180 The Strand, The Southbank Centre and British Council and is held in the permanent collection of the V&A and British Council.
Kelly will be presenting a series of paintings made over the past 3 years, as well as a series of screenprints made in the Jealous Studio. The artist has worked closely with our studio team to create 6 special screenprinted editions, which will be released on 5th September 2024, alongside the opening of the exhibition PRINTS PAINTINGS POLES.
In preparation for the impending exhibition opening, we have put together a little run-down of previous notable projects by Ben Kelly, starting from 1970s and moving toward today.
