Jealous Needs You

Jealous East

14 Jul 2022 — 07 Aug 2022

Jealous Needs You is back for the first time since 2018, with the seventh exhibition since it began.

Established in 2011, the entirely free open submission project accepts proposals from a broad range of artists from all backgrounds, artistic styles and varied career levels, inviting all to submit their designs for consideration by the Jealous team and Paul Foster from Saatchi Gallery. Jealous gallery is excited to announce the artists in this year’s Jealous Needs You portfolio; Allie Ellis, Andi Brown, Ceal Warnants, David Oates Merstham, Deborah Azzopardi, Ed Burnand, Fung Lam, Harry Wyld, Heath Kane, John Berkamp, Jorge Margarido, Kaius Owen, Kapitza, Lauren Moore, Louise Victoria, Mauricio Ortiz, Melvin Galapon, Rob Ryan, Slava Tchakaloff, Supermundane, Toby Goodyear. We are also pleased to include the following artists from our Jealous Team: Adam Bridgland, Bench Allen, Dario Illari, Gleb Kostenko, Ines Fernandez de Cordova, Jack Burrill, Joss Fenn, J.R., Juliet Gibbs, Karen Dear, Samuel Coleman, Sholto Douglas, Tom Adams and William Kingett.
This exhibition showcases the final selection of exceptional artworks from the diverse and impressive submissions received, featured alongside screenprints from our Jealous printmakers.
Each artist worked to the ambitious brief of creating a monochromatic design; a unique creative directive developed for this year’s open call to unite each artwork in their uniformity. With the aim of working with some of the most inspiring practising artists in the world right now, this exhibition will give collectors the opportunity to purchase works from both up-and-coming and established artists.
Selecting the 21 winners from the vast list of applicants for this year’s exhibition was a truly difficult challenge. The winning artists have patiently waited since the announcement was made in 2020 and have finally had their designs translated to screenprint in the Jealous Print Studios, all of which will be launched at Jealous East this summer.
