‘Dave Buonaguidi Is Always A Good Idea’ comes to Jealous East this March; showcasing a selection of artworks from the artist’s plethora of unique vintage maps, screenprinted with text overlays in Dave’s unmistakeable style.

Buonaguidi repurposes outdated vintage maps from locations across the globe, giving them a new breath of life and colour to make us reconsider them as unique artworks, as well as treasured reminders of parts of the world once visited or yet to explore. This exhibition will take you all over, without having to set a foot outside the gallery.

The exhibition features never-before-seen artworks unique to our Shoreditch exhibition.

Amongst the new releases, you can expect to see one of the artist’s classic phrases, ‘Shoreditch Is Always A Good Idea’ immortalised in neon and lighting up the gallery for all to see.

Dave Buonaguidi, AKA Real Hackney Dave (true to his nickname) is a Hackney-based artist who combines the visual and verbal language of advertising and propaganda with unique imagery and materials of found objects and ephemera.

Dave employs a reactive approach to his art, combining printmaking with his bold typographic approach to push the boundaries of creativity and to respond to cultural subjects and events in almost real time; as if a publisher going to print.
