MASAGON is a street-based artist living and working in Osaka, Japan. He uses various materials to create paintings, sculptures and installations that are often multiplications between kitsch and POP creating a psychedelic effect. He has had numerous international exhibitions, performances and collaborations with other industries such as advertising and fashion. “I lately like occupying space with the geometric fragments taken from popular culture, daily life or anything I see. We are always dizzy by full fragments of images and information in our contemporary life of a city. We have no time to see and understand all of those fragments really and sometimes do not even know their functions or contexts but they start having new perspectives when they become the mass. My work is like that. Painting tons of small pieces and stepping back to see what I’ve done, that is the best moment when I see the unknown mass.“ MASAGON at his atelier, 2015.
